I am a graduate student working on my Ph.D. in Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization (ACO) at Carnegie Mellon University. This interdisciplinary program is a joint venture of the Tepper School of Business (Operations Research group), the Computer Science Department (Algorithms and Complexity group) and the Department of Mathematical Sciences (Discrete Mathematics group). Depending on which group of people you talk to, I am either an applied mathematician, or a theoretical computer scientist. My advisor is Anupam Gupta, who is in the Algorithms and Complexity group.
My research interests lie in the areas of approximation algorithms and network design problems. I am interested in both online and offline problems, especially those that have some real-world motivation and are straightforward to state, but not to solve.
