But still I have managed to get back at them by reading more :-) The list of my favorite authors is   Douglas Adams   DNA and HitchHiker’s Guide to the galaxy have changed my life. I thought of doing a PhD on Philosophy of life: The Hitch Hiking perspective but found no funding.   Sulman Rushdie   I actually started reading Rushdie from his less know book called Fury and found him to be one of the best. Then came the Midnight’s Children, The Ground beneath her feet, The Shame, The Moor’s last sigh. His collection ‘Step Across the line’ is also a great piece of work. Haroun and the sea of stories, The Jaguar Smile, The enchantress of Florence and so on….. The big project Satanic Verses is still pending and so is the search for East,West and Imaginary Homelands. Somehow I didn’t read Shalimar but will soon do it.   Fredrick Forsyth   He is the master story teller. No Comebacks, The Day of the Jackal, The Negotiator and The Odessa Files.. Love them all.   JRR Tolkien   George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, Anthony Burgress and Aldous Huxley   The four novels The Animal Farm, 1984, Fahrenheit 451 and Brave New World . In all the cases I could help but feeling awed at the bold parallelism of current world and their dystopian fantasies. It was the similar feeling I go when I read Fury, but instead of identifying me with a character, I was identifying the whole world as their world.
