Service to Youth and the Community

Alpha Phi Omega prides itself in its contribution of service to the community. The majority of Kappa's community service projects consist of lending assistance to organizations that need an extra hand. These projects can be anything from fundraisers to assisting at walk-a-thons or cooking meals for the homeless.

Some of our community projects
  • The Bradley Center - take disadvantaged children on outings to the Carnegie Museum, Zoo and other fun places.
  • East End Cooperative Ministry - provide dinner for the residents of the shelter.
  • Habitat for Humanity - help build houses for disadvantaged families.
  • Merit Badge University - help local scouts get merit badges.
  • MS Walk-a-thon - provide assistance in registering participants and giving out drinks.
  • Operation Clean House - help clean community centers.
  • Paint Your Heart Out - paint houses for elderly and disabled people
  • Pinewood Derby - help local scouts build their cars for competition in the Pinewood Derby
  • Pittburgh Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) Judging - help judge at the science fair competition.
