East End Cooperative Ministry


East End Cooperative Ministry(E.E.C.M.) is an interfaith coalition of 46 congregations, parishes, and institutions united to minister to the human needs in the East End of Pittsburgh. The people served are the frail, homebound elderly, the hungry, the homeless, and children and youth in underprivileged neighborhoods.

Service Opportunities:

  • Elderly Service: Meals on Wheels prep or delivery, escort to doctors appointments, visiting and shopping(week days).
  • Soup Kitchen: Prep, serve and clean-up (week days).
  • Food Pantry: Interact with families and distribute food (week days 1-3 p.m.).
  • Men's Shelter: Prep and serve evening meal (8:30-10:30 p.m.)
  • Drop-In: Bring and serve sandwiches and other snacks (5 p.m.)
  • Tutoring: K-12 (scheduled)
