American Red Cross

Southwestern PA Chapter

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, which provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. It does this through service that are consistent with its Congressional Charter and the principles of the International Red Cross Movement.

Service Opportunities:

  • Clerical Aides- To provide clerical support by running errands, securing check signatures, making and distributing copies.
  • Case Workers- To provide casework services to Armed Forces Veterans, their dependents, and disaster clients residing in Allegheny County.
  • Graphic Artists- To assist in the design and creation of communication tools used to increase awareness.
  • Photographers- To take pictures for an archive that tells the American Red Cross story in order to increase awareness of the programs and services provided.
