Micro/Nanofiber Manufacturing Environment I am interested in developing novel techniques for aligned deposition of polymeric micro/nanofibers serving as one-dimensional building blocks in a bottom up assembly environment. The focus of my doctoral and post-doctoral research has been to address the challenges in fabrication and assembly of one-dimensional (1D) polymeric nanofibers to higher ordered structures, which is a cumbersome process using state-of-the-art instrumentation and prone to damage. I have focused on developing a robust platform to precisely deposit the 1D structure’s with control on dimensions and appropriate boundary conditions in planar and non-planar configurations as shown in the images, which can then be assembled into higher ordered structures or studied for material behavior.
