About Me

Past

I am a born and bred Minnesotan. I only started my southeastern migration after high school when I became a University of Wisconsin-Madison Badger (Go Badgers!). Upon graduation, I was thrilled with the opportunity to work as a structural engineer in Cork, Ireland among the quick wit of the Irish. After returning to the US, I took an environmental engineering job in the Tri-State region of Illinois, Kentucky and Indiana. In August 2008, I enrolled as a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Present

I am a third year doctoral student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University where I focus on sustainability issues pertaining to the built environment both on a building and city scale. My research is housed within the Green Design Insitute where I am advised by Professors Chris Hendrickson and H. Scott Matthews. Click on the Resources link to learn more about my research.

Future

The plan is to finish my doctoral degree before the end of 2012. My ideal company would contain a research interest with a focus on industry applications. I am seeking an innovative company in the building sector that does real integrative design for the built environment. More of my interests can be found on the research page.
