Bio

 
 

Anne has designed scenery for hundreds of projects throughout the United States.  Her design work includes theater design, museum exhibition design, parade float design, industrial design, opera, symphony, dance.  She has also worked as a scenic artist on hundreds of productions in Regional Theater, National Tours, Film, Television, Parades, Museums and Industrial Venues. Anne an Associate Professor of Scene Design at Carnegie Mellon University, where she has just finished a ten year term as Head of Design.  She is Director of Growing Theater Outreach, which is a collaboration between Carnegie Mellon Mentors and at risk third and fifth graders.  Anne is one of the founders of the internationally recognized Roboceptionist Project, a collaboration between the CMU Robotics Institute and the School of Drama.  One of the project’s products, named Athina, was recently installed into a permanent exhibit on seminal robotics at the Carnegie Science Museum.   Anne holds an AB from Kenyon College and an MFA from Brandeis University and is a member of United Scenic Artists local 829 in Scene Design and Scenic Painting.
