International Program: San Pedro de Casta, Peru
This is an international service-learning trip to the rural community of San Pedro de Casta, Peru to volunteer in the town through the non-profit organization, Globe Aware. This trip will focus on Education and Native Andean Culture. The proposed trip dates are March 6 to March 13. Participants will volunteer for one week in the town of San Pedro, Peru, where Globe Aware has established a strong partnership. Volunteer activities vary depending on the community’s need at a particular time and could include teaching basic computer and English skills at the community center, helping construct a new building to house an early childhood education program, or working in a tree nursery to combat deforestation. |

Domestic Program: St. Bernard’s Parish, Louisiana
This is a trip to St. Bernard’s Parish, Louisiana. It is a parish right outside of New Orleans. We will be working with the St. Bernard Project. The trip will focus on rebuilding, both homes and people’s lives, to help restore some hope in New Orleans. We will have the opportunity to work directly with the homeowners to help them get a life back, starting at their home. Our efforts will bring them closer to getting the city they have always known and loved back. The proposed dates are March 8 through March 15. |
