Professional BackgroundI am a visiting research scholar at the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Currently I am also at the very last stages of my doctoral program that focus on academic research and development activities in its relationship with the social infrastructure. My scientific activity is concentrated in two areas:1) Higher Education Policy, especially on what concerns issues related with research productivity, higher education diversity, transparency and accountability in higher education.2) Science and Technology Policy, concerning S&T funding trends, national and international policy analysis, comparative analysis, and issues of transparency in the mechanisms of science.Currently, I am working on several projects of research with professor Francisco Veloso (Carnegie Mellon University), Professor Manuel Heitor (Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal), Professor António Firmino da Costa (CIES-ISCTE), Professor Antonino Vaccaro (Universidade Católica Portuguesa & Carnegie Mellon University) and Vincent Dautel (INSTEAD).EducationPh.D in Industrial Engineering and Management, Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (Portugal), in progress.
