Intercollegiate Engineering Challenge

Solar Splash is an intercollegiate solar boating competition sponsored by ASME typically held in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The competition includes sprint, slalom and endurance races, each of which test different aspects of the boat. Visit solarsplash.com for the official rules and competition results.

Founded in 2005, Carnegie Mellon Solar Splash (CMSS) is in its fifth year of competition and has much experience to draw from. The primary focus for this year is the redesign of both the endurance and sprint lower units. We will also be constructing our own lightweight solar array and high efficiency charge controller.
