Club Positions  
President

Has a vision for the club, and a will to implement it using the help of the Webmaster, Treasurer, and Event Coordinator.

Knowledge of "the CMU system". Example: How do you reserve a room for a meeting? Answer: SpaceQuest.

Decides how to wisely spend club monies, with or without consulting anyone else.

Assigns the Treasurer to purchase the items, or can purchase on his/her own.

Owns and knows how to use Splendid City Scheduling.

Should add user.racball to Mulberry so as to be able to check all emails sent to racball@andrew

Can choose to make structural changes to the club. For example, creating a new position in The Board or changing the constitution.

Has basic knowledge of funded clubs at CMU. For example, all funded clubs should have some type of consistution.

Periodically emails <+dist+/afs/andrew.cmu.edu/org/rballclub/roster.dl@andrew.cmu.edu> to share his/her thoughts and ideas

 

Webmaster


Has full authority to change/add/remove any contents of this website, with or without consulting anyone else.

Checks their inbox for all emails sent to racball@andrew (all forms from the website get sent here)

Knows this site inside out, and updates it whenever he/she deems necessary

Maintains the ladder (or may choose to shut it down)

Updates the club's d-list located at /afs/andrew.cmu.edu/org/rballclub/roster.dl based on forms sent to racball@andrew

Updates the Administrators' d-list if there is a change in the EAB. Located at <+dist+/afs/andrew.cmu.edu/org/rballclub/admin.dl@andrew.cmu.edu>.

Must own and know how to use Splendid City Scheduling, especially its web publishing features

Executes requests from the President or Events Coordinator to publish on this site things like announcements, tournament results, or to add new sections to the website, etc.

 

Events Coordinator


Has full authority to work independently of anyone else to organize any racquetball events.

Has full authority to make the final say on when to hold any event, with or without consulting anyone else.

Should own and know Splendid City Scheduling inside out.

Periodically checks racball@andrew.

Periodically sends email to <+dist+/afs/andrew.cmu.edu/org/rballclub/roster.dl@andrew.cmu.edu> to let everyone know of upcoming events.

Is in charge of storing and distributing all equipment/supplies ordered by the Treasurer, such as balls.

Stays current with racquetball events in the community.

Calls meetings of the Board or general member meetings whenever he/she deems necessary.

Should consult the Treasurer when there is a need to purchase items from the Club's budget for an event.

 

Treasurer


Has full authority over the Club's budget.

Takes purchase requests from the President or the Events Coordinator.

Knows where to get the best deal on racquetball stuff. Recommended: www.racquetworld.com.

Knows who Dave Ruvolo is and where to get a reimbursement form. (UC, room 104).

Uses their credit card to purchase items, then submits a reimbursement form for it, effectively building good credit history using the Club's budget!

Maintains a folder called "receipts and reimbursements" which contains every receipt and reimbursement form for every item ever!

Knows where the money is at and how to get it: One word, JFC - The Joint Funding Committee.

Must submit a budget proposal to the Senate/JFC once every year to ensure that the club gets continued funding!

Has heard of a "special allocation." Attend a JFC meeting if you haven't.

 

Advisors


Should be able to answer at least questions like:

Is it two bounces or one?

Can I use my hand instead?

How do I reserve courts?

What steps can I take to improve my game?

What can the Club do to expand/improve?

Advisors should be approachable
