the Birmingham Bridge along East Carson Street is an old section of
Pittsburgh that is one of the hottest hangouts for students.
There are music stores, coffee, houses, a variety of unique
specialty shops, a movie theatre, clothing stores, and restaurants. Ride
one of the inclines to Mt. Washington for a beautiful view of the city
from one of the mountains overlooks. Downtown Downtown
Pittsburgh, or the “Golden Triangle”, is full of a wide variety of
specialty shops, as well as several department stores and malls.
The bus system makes getting there easy. Strip
District The
Strip District is one of the most colorful areas to shop in Pittsburgh.
Located up and down Smallman Street and Penn Avenue, once known for
its wholesale warehouses, it has become a bustling market place.
You can find produce, groceries, flower shops, specialty shops,
eateries and coffee houses, and dance clubs. So
how do you get to these places? Start
by asking your RA. All these
locations are easy to get to by bus, free with your CMU i.d. card. The UC
Info desk will direct you!
