Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928, in his family's two-room apartment on Orr Street in Pittsburgh. By the time of his death in New York City on February 22, 1987, Warhol had been working prolifically as an artist for nearly 40 years and his fame and influence extended throughout the world.
 

The collections of The Andy Warhol Museum are comprised of more than 3,000 works of art including drawings, prints, paintings, sculpture, film, audio and video tapes, and an extensive archives that consists of ephemera, records, source material for works of art, and other documents of the artist's life. Together the art and archives make The Andy Warhol Museum the most comprehensive single-artist museum in the world.

This exhibition, which has traveled to a number of venues across the U.S., seeks to cast a fresh eye on critical aspects of modern America's architectural culture - its promises, its roots and offshoots, its unparalleled worldwide impact. Organized by the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal, and guest curated by Karal Ann Marling, Professor of Art History and American Studies at the University of Minnesota, this acclaimed exhibition presents more than 350 never-before-seen architectural drawings, models, paintings and plans for the parks and their attractions from the archives of Walt Disney Imagineering.
