Important Rehearsal

Checkpoint:
This is a rehearsal about mid-way through the semester at which choreographers and dancers show 2/3 of their piece to the Directors. The purpose of this rehearsal is to give Choreographers a time line for their rehearsals as well as to give dancers the opportunity to use the stage. Each dance will have approximately 10 minutes to use the stage and will show their piece twice to the Directors. Choreographers should have a copy of their music to give to the Directors, as well as an idea of costuming.

Tech Rehearsal:
This rehearsal is usually the weekend before the show, and is spread out between two nights. It is structured similarly to checkpoint, in that each piece will have a 15 minute time slot to show their finished piece twice. The purpose of this rehearsal is to give the tech crew a chance to see each piece and finalize lighting plans as well as to give the dancers a chance on stage.

Dress Rehearsal:
This is the last rehearsal before the show, and is usually on the night before the show opening. Pieces are run in show order and with full costumes, lights and music. Dancers are expected to attend the bow run through and perform in all pieces that they are in.
