Expectations

What Dancers' Symposium expects of all its members:
Dedication. Directors, choreographers and dancers are all expected to follow through on their commitments to each other and to the organization. This includes all the specifics of the relationships listed below, as well as promoting the show, selling tickets, and performing during both nights.

What choreographers should expect from the directors:
A regularly reserved space to rehearse in with a floor that is easy to dance on. The ability to communicate about problems or special needs for rehearsals and the show.

What dancers should expect from choreographers:
A weekly rehearsal at a set time and location. Dancers should be informed of any change in this schedule prior to their rehearsal. Choreographers should be prepared every week and keep teaching on a schedule such that dancers know 2/3 of the piece by the checkpoint date. Choreographers should inform dancers of any special policies and be patient with the abilities of their dancers.

What choreographers should expect from dancers:
Dancers are expected to attend every regularly scheduled rehearsal and important date unless they have given prior notice. Excused attendance policies are subject to the discretion of the choreographer. Any missed rehearsal is the responsibility of the dancer to make up. Dancers are expected to work hard in rehearsal and be respectful of their choreographer.
