The name of this
organization shall be Carnegie Mellon Cricket Club (CMCC).
Article II - Organization Purpose
The club is meant
for the purpose of recreation and spreading cricket awareness among the
community at Carnegie Mellon University. The main objective of the organization shall be to
promote the sport of cricket on campus, give students and faculty the
opportunity to learn the game of cricket, and to maintain the Carnegie Mellon
Cricket Club Team.
Article III - Membership
The CMU cricket
club is strictly non-religious and non-political; in the sense that it will not
espouse any political or religious causes or make any political statements
related to any country. Membership of the club is open to all persons,
irrespective of nationality, religious affiliation, language, creed, color or
sex, who is part of the Carnegie Mellon University community either by
studying, working or visiting and is interested in playing/following the sport
of cricket. There is NO annual membership fee. However, during tournaments,
participating teams might be required to pay a very nominal amount towards the
tournament expenses. This amount might range from $35/- to $50/- per team
(where a team comprises of 11-13 players).
Article IV - Offices
The affairs of The
Cricket Club are directed by a five member volunteer executive committee
comprised of Carnegie Mellon students. The five-committee members are drawn
from both graduate and undergraduate student community. The outgoing executive
committee is responsible for passing on the executive powers to the incoming
officers within the last six weeks of each Fall academic term.
Article V--Officers and Duties
The Executive Committee consists of five officers of which there must be at
all times at least two undergraduate and two graduate members.
