Shrimp Escape from Side Control

The shrimp escape is the simplest and safest method for escaping the side control pin. Drew has provided us with a breakdown of the escape.

1. Put your forearms across your opponent's hip and throat.

2. Push with your forearm near your elbow, not your wrist.

3. Move your hips away using the shrimp motion.

4. Slide your right knee in across your opponent's waist.

5. Turn your body so you are facing your opponent.

6. Hook your left foot inside of your opponent's right leg.

7. Pull your opponent into your guard.
