Our diverse researchers and alumni come from five different countries with graduate students representing the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, two of the top Bioengineering programs in the United States.

Alumni of our laboratory have graduated to medical school, earned teaching and research appointments at other universities, and successfuly migrated to industry.

Our focus is always on expanding the overall knowledge of our colleagues. Graduate students advised by Dr. Antaki are required to submit their work to a peer-reviewed journal prior to defense of their thesis. Master’s students are required to submit one article and PhD students are required to submit two.

Graduate students in our group are generally provided full tuition and stipend. The funds are derived from various departmental, government, philanthropic, and industrial sources. As such, these funds are considered compensation for services rendered. The student has an obligation to assure productivity in their research. Students are encouraged to seek all opportunities for fellowships and are routinely asked to assist the P.I.s in preparation of grants to assure financial health of our program.
