Fangjun Shu, Ph.D.

Home Country: China

Degree(s) Obtained: B.S. and M.S. in mechanics and mechanical engineering at the University of Science and Technology of China; Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University

Current Status:  Postdoctoral Researcher

Current Area of Research: Flow visualization techniques for optimizing device performance.

Profile:

His research interests include experimental and theoretical fluid mechanics, bio-fluid mechanics, flow visualization and optical metrology. His research focused on flow physics in passively controlled water jets during the past five years. Since 2006, he joined CARDIOMD lab and focused on flow visualization research in blood wetted medical devices. He investigated flow field using various visualization technologies including particle tracking, dye washout, dye wash off  and particle image velocimetry (PIV).
