So you made it to Germany...

Now what?

Well perhaps you're in Germany. At least you should be somewhere in Europe. :)

There are a few places near by that I suggest you try to arrive in:

These places will get you close to Aachen, from there you may have to take bus or a train. I highly suggest taking a bus if possible as it will put you in the center of Aachen, where someone can meet you to help you to your place, and you will not have to worry about the train system on your first arrival. But read about each specific place, and how to get from there to Aachen. It will be worth your time to think this far ahead, afterall you will have plenty of time to do what you would like when you first arrive. Especially if you arrive early like I did.

Düsseldorf, Germany

There is a bus that goes directly from Düsseldorf and Aachen 12 times per day, as well as the Train. I arrived from Düsseldorf, took the bus, and was very pleased and happy to have done so.

Frankfurt, Germany

Though Frankfurt is about 3 hours away by Train, it isn't all that bad. I would suggest of course trying to get a train that goes directly to Köln without changing trains. That in itself is about 2 hours. Köln is an hour away from Aachen. Again by train. To my knowledge there is no bus available from Frankfurt to Aachen. Check the transportation section for more info about DeutscheBahn.

Cologne(Köln)/Bonn, Germany

I don't know where the airport for Cologne is, but if it is anywhere close to the train station you got it made. There is a train that leaves from Cologne to Aachen every hour. Sure it makes stops but you don't have to change trains, making train travel a blessing. However there IS a bus that runs 4 times a day. Don't know the times for that either.

Brussels, Belgium

This one can be a straight train shot if you can get the right train. Meaning in Brussels you get on the train, and next thing you know you've arrived in Aachen some 3 hours later. Check out the train schedule for Brussels to Aachen before you leave or even make your travel plans.

Happy traveling and arrive safe in Aachen. :) Best of luck.
