welcome
to the internet home of united campus ministry of Pittsburgh.

United Campus Ministry is the official denominational representative of seven national churches:
United Campus Ministry is a member of the Interfaith Councils of CMU and Chatham, and the Association of Chaplaincies at Pitt. United
Campus Ministry began in the late ‘60’s in response to the wide-spread
social change of the Vietnam War. Everything was up for
re-examination: God, life, the universe, EVERYTHING. Being a
Christian wasn’t just about putting on patent leather shoes and white
gloves. It was about roll up your sleeves and becoming an active and
inquiring voice for positive. It was about challenging the
Establishment. Today,
we’ve put down our picket signs, but we’ve not lost our passion for
peace, justice, and faith. We
still meet the issues—race, class, gender, social action with a hunger
to make the world good, just as God intended. |
