Hebrews 4:14-16 "Having therefore a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all respects like us, yet without sin. Let us therefore come forward with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help."

Luke 19:5 "And as He came to the place, Jesus looked up and said to him, Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay in your house."
*I enjoy Luke because it shows Christ's humanity. How precious is the Lord's weeping and saving love in the gospel of Luke! Whenever I think of this gospel, I also remember many stories and parables, like the Good Samaritan, the parable of the prodigal son, etc. But the one that stands most strongly in my mind is the story of Zaccheus (and a children's meeting song):

Zaccheus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he.
He climbed up in a sychamore tree for the Lord he wanted to see. And as the Savior passed this way, He looked up in the tree. And said, "Zaccheus, you come down, For I'm going to your house today. For I'm going to your house today."

Psalm 23 "THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him--not for my earning it, but] for His name's sake.
Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.
*It helps me when I have to walk through the valley of the shadow of death."

Psalm 51:10-17 "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.
Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted and return to You.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness and death, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness (Your rightness and Your justice).
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
For You delight not in sacrifice, or else would I give it; You find no pleasure in burnt offering.
My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise."

John 3:8 "The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

Galatians 2:20 "...it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

Luke 5:23 "Which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven you, or to say, Rise and walk?"

Revelation 14:10 "He also shall drink of the wine of the fury of God, which is mixed undiluted in the cup of His wrath; and he shall be tormented in fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb."

John 6:18-20 "And because a strong wind was blowing, the sea was churning. Then, when they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they became frightened. But He said to them, It is I. Do not be afraid."

1 Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Acts 17:27-28 "That they might seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, even though He is not far from each one of us; For in Him we live and move and are, as even some poets among you have said, For we are also His race."

2 Timothy 2:21 "If therefore anyone cleanses himself from these, he will be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, useful to the master, prepared unto every good work."

Acts 2:17-18 "And it shall be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream things in dreams; And indeed upon My slaves, both men and women, I will pour out of My Spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy."

Proverbs 30:5 "Every word of God is tried; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him."
* It encourages the insignificant me to simply trust the living God through His word to His creation.

Proverbs 4:23 "Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it are the issues of life."
* "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Psalms 51:10)

Psalms 122:1 "I rejoiced when they said to me, let us go to the house of Jehovah."
* Thank you brothers and sisters! Your loving the church helps me to appreciate Christ in reality.

Job 12:5 "There is contempt for calamity in the thought of him who is at ease: It is prepared for those whose foot slips."
* Even though it's a warning, it's such a wonderful reminder that I need Him as my daily salvation and moment-by-moment supply.
