Though members represent various ethnic backgrounds
and many academic disciplines, we share a common
mission to:
1. Nurture graduate students of color at Carnegie
Mellon academically, professionally, and culturally.
2. Build relationships between graduate students,
Carnegie Mellon undergraduates, alumni, and the
greater Pittsburgh community.
3. Enable graduate students to enrich the broader
community through service opportunities.
The Black Graduate Student Organization (BGSO) of Carnegie Mellon University welcomes you and invites you to learn more about us. Our organization is open to all grad students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds who support our mission to improve the academic, social, and support environment for black graduate students on our campus.
As black graduate students, we believe in not only
being successful academically, but also in
contributing to our campus and community.
Understanding the gift of education and community
engagement, we seek to give back the help that may
have been given to us. Most importantly, we want to
support each other on the arduous path to becoming the
nation’s leading businesspeople, scientists, policy
experts, engineers, and teachers. BGSO supports you.
We support us!

2012-2013 BGSO President

In addition, candidates can create “Job Alerts” to notify them when a subscribing institution posts a job in their field of interest.
