Final Project

The final project will consist of a business plan to create a new or revamp an existing ecommerce site.  The site can be a government, non-profit, or commercial site.  You will be assigned readings to help you with this project, and the teaching assistants will be available to assist your group.  Unlike the homework groups, you are expected to form your own group of  3-5 people.

For those of you who are interested in actually starting a start-up, I would highly recommend ordering the Harvard Business School Publishing CD Rom, Launching a High Risk Business from the CMU Bookstore.  The way it works is that you pay up front and the bookstore calls you when it comes in.  Ask at the desk downstairs in the bookstore.

Groups and Topics

The following industry segments are not available:  books, CDs, videos, and auction companies.  Further only one group can work in a given industry segment.  For instance, if a group had already chosen to write a business plan that involved starting a new grocery site, another group cannot chose to do a project on the grocery segment.

Format of the Final Project

Final projects are expected to be no more than 30 pages of double spaced text, including all figures, tables, or graphs.  Drafts and final versions should be submitted the same way you submitted your homework.
