# Introduction #

The purpose of this tutorial is to explain in general how to use ANSYS (version 7.0) to model a solid mechanics problem that a sophomore-level mechanical engineering student should be well acquainted with. The examples that this guide will take you through are

Problem1 : A plate under uniformed load condition
Problem2 : A plate subjected to four point bending

Problem3 : A plate with a hole

Problem4 : A pedal crank subjected to bending moment and shear forces

Note that every problem are now compliant with ANSYS v. 8.1.

The main goal of the examples is for you to be able to know how to use the ANSYS (v7.0) software, but also to see how important it is to be able to interpret your final results intelligently.
