Handing in Your Assignments

This is a draft of the procedure for submitting your homework assignments. It may change in the future once we see how it works for everyone.

This also assumes that you have created a symbolic link in your andrew space. This is one topic for class on Wednesday, August 27.

First, write your code, debug it, check its execution against the specification list in the homework document. You do not want to lose points for easily avoidable mistakes.

Second, save your work -- it is usually easier to find the folder if you save it to the desktop. You can drag it into a 15-100 folder once you have handed it in.

Third, go the the file menu and select the Export option. DO NOT CHOOSE Export Application. This action creats and Applet folder which we will use to grade and display your work.

Fourth, change the name of the folder to:
Homework1
if you have changed it
Nothing else. Just Homework1. The first letter must be upper case and the remainder must be lower case. There must be NO spaces. It must be spelled exactly as shown.
For Homework2, you will use the name, Homework2.
For Homework3, you will... you get the idea

Last, using a File Transfer Protocol program such as SSH Transfer Client for Windows or Fetch for the Mac, transfer the entire folder to your handin directory via the symbolic link. Dragging the folder has not alwaysworked in the past.

That's it -- let's just hope it works...
