The figure below shows two "tanks" of gas connected by a valve whose volume is negligible compared to the tanks. Each tank contains a different gas, but both are at 0 ^oC. The volumes of the tanks are 10 L and 30 L respectively.

(a) Redraw (or describe) the system to indicate how it appears after the valve has been opened connecting the two tanks.

(b) If each molecule in the diagram represents 1.0 mol of gas, what is the system's total pressure after the valve has been opened?

(c) If all the gas is pumped into the smaller tank, what are the partial pressures of the two gases?
