  1. After reaction with CNBr, peptides are cleaved following internal Met residues. The C-terminus is a modified Met residue; see p. 125.
  2. Chymotrypsin is specific for cleavage after the large aromatic residues, e.g. Phe, Tyr, and Trp.
  3. Figs. 4.2 is a good illustration of H-bond geometry in a-helices. H-bonds are about 3Å in length. Nothing is more numerous in proteins than van der Waals interactions!
