Saturation Curve & Hill Plot Comparisons


1. Saturation curves for Hill coefficients of 1.0 and 1.8
Fractional occupancy is plotted vs. the concentration of free ligand. For both curves, the Kd = 0.10 mM.
The graph for nH = 1.0 is comparable to the example shown on Ligand Binding: Answer Sheet Example (where the data were analyzed in a Scatchard plot).


2. Hill plots for Hill coefficients of 1.0 and 1.8
The data from the binding curves above were calculated and plotted logarithmically. For both curves, the Kd = 0.10 mM.
The graph for nH = 1.8 is similar to that shown on Cooperative Binding: Answer Sheet Example.
